FLASHBACK VODKA
CREATIVE DIRECTION, BRANDING AND PACKAGING DESIGN
The team at Flashback Vodka knew they were onto a great selling product and were looking for someone to help set the look and design the branding for their new product. That’s where we came in.
TheIr product was aimed at the younger end of the drinking market. The design needed to be youthful with a retro look, as their flavours are flavours you would remember from your childhood but with vodka. We describe it as bringing your childhood into your adulthood.
First we needed to determine the overall look of the brand, so Tamara Design Services presented options for design trends that would be used as an inspiration jumping point for the new brand. These were 80’s-90’s Street Art, 80’s-90’s Neon Nightclub and Pop Art.
From these options for creative direction the Flashback Vodka team chose Pop Art. A great choice, as there is a lot of opportunity to reference popular culture and Pop Art colour combo’s.
Tamara Design Services then designed the logo and other branding elements so that they could be recoloured to reflect the flavour that they are being used on.
Once the logo and brand elements were designed the packaging and other media were able to be designed. Illustrations inspired by Roy Lichtenstein were also developed as branding elements that could be recoloured for different flavours and used in all sorts of assets.
